From small town to the capital

Lukasz was born in a small Polish town Żuromin located 120 km far from Warsaw. That’s where he went in for football featuring for local team called Wkra.

The talented striker started 2010/11 season in Polonia, but mostly performed in youth league (15 goals in 21 matches). The following year Teodorczyk made 11 appearances in Ekstraklasa and netted four goals.

In the second half of 2012/13 season Teo joined Lech Poznan as Polonia had serious financial problems. On February 24 2013 he made a debut for the new team and scored brace against Ruch Chorzów.

A month later, on March 22, he made a substitute appearance for Poland 84 minutes into the World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.

Lewandowski as example to follow

2013/14 season was a success for Teodorczyk. Lech became the Ekstraklasa runners-up while Lukasz netted 20 goals and got “bronze boot”.

Another significant event for Teo took place on March 26 2013 as he made a substitute appearance in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against San Marino, played alongside Robert Lewandowski and scored two minutes after he took the field.

It should be mentioned that Lukasz and his famous colleague Lewandowski have resembling ways, at least in Polish league. Both of them featured for Lech Poznan and scored almost similar number of goals.

Before his transfer to Borussia Dortmund Lewandowski hit the target 32 times in Ekstraklasa (2008 – 2010) in 58 matches while Teodorczyk made 50 appearances and netted 24 goals (2013 – 2014).

Ticket to acknowledgement

On August 30 Lukasz Teodorczyk was presented to Kyiv public before the UPL matchday 5 fixture against FC Chornomorets Odesa. Still more impressive event took place later.

85 minutes into the game Lukasz, who chose squad number 91, substituted Younes Belhanda. In a moment he obtained the ball on the left flank, put a cross into the box and Andriy Yarmolenko hit the target easily.

The White-Blues head coach Serhiy Rebrov let Polish forward take the field as he saw his desire to approve himself.

- We’ve signed a good striker. Teo was really wiling to take the field against Odesa side and I granted him such opportunity. He works hard at training sessions and wants to approve himself in the new club.
