Dynamo Kyiv defender Yevhen Khacheridiis actually half-Greek. His mother is Ukrainian but his father comes from Greece.  Playing for Dynamo he has proved to be a very reliable center back. Still being a very emotional person he quarrels with referees rather often which is harmful for our team. Once he was given a yellow card after which he snatched it out of referee's hand and threw it away. Of course he got a red card after that. But Khacheridi knows his drawbacks and tries to cope with them.

Emotional young man

Euhen was born and grew up in Melitopol. His father also was a football player but not a professional one. There was no special football school in Melitopol. The coach Stanislav Zabroda organized training sessions himself.

The president of Olkom Melitopol football club Volodymyr Didenko says that being 13 years old Khacheridi was already a very noticeable player. There was no doubt that he would play for Olkom. He made his debut for this team when he was 17 years old. It was a Ukrainian Second League match.

One year later Yevhen went to Zaporizhya where he spent half a year in FC Metalurh. Still he did not play a match in Ukrainian Premier League so he came back to Melitopol, but as the former manager of Olkom Ivan Marushchak says, no one wanted to deal with Khacheridi any more as he was a bully. Never the less Yevhen wanted to play very much so Marushchak took him to Crimea to against FC Sevastopol. Khacheridi played very well! After that he started making progress quickly.

Later Khacheridi played for FC Volyn Lutsk. The head coach of this team Vitaliy Kvartsianyi recommended him to coaches of Dynamo Kyiv. So in January of 2008 Yevhen Khacheridi was signed by our club.

Trust is important!

Khacheridi made his debut for Dynamo main squad on September 13 2008 in Ukrainian Cup game against his native Olkom (5:0). 56 minutes into the match Yevhen substituted.

10 October 2009 he earned his first cap for the National team of Ukraine in qualifying match of WC 2010 against England, in which he played the full 90 minutes (1:0).

Khacheridi himself explains his success by following words: “It is very important to feel trust of the coach. Being on the playing pitch, you do not think about mistakes that may exclude you for the next match. When you are sure that you will get a chance in the following games you are more believe in yourself.”
