Dynamo finish runners-up in league race

The away draw 2-2 with Metalist meant Dynamo finished only second in the table, with Shakhtar claiming the league title through their 4-1 victory over Metalurh Donetsk and Metalist clinching bronze medals prematurely.

Dynamo produced their first, and probably the best in the first half, chance on eight minutes, when Kravets masterly got round two defenders, but only two send his shot wide above the crossbar.

Dević, yellow-carded for referee talking a few minutes before, outperformed Mandzyuk and headed Bordiyan’s cross into the far corner to fire Metalist into a lead on 35 minutes.

The White-Blues leveled after producing a multi-step combination. Ninković passed onto Morozyuk in the corner of the box and the youngster then saw his shot diverted in by a flick from El Kaddouri, with Milevskyy not reaching the ball.

It took the opponents a few instants to regain their lead. Rykun’s diagonal pass found Dević and the Serb, having sprinted into the area, slotted home his second tonight, confirming his title of the season’s best league marksman with nineteen strikes.

It was no sooner than in the injury time that Kyiv pulled off an equalizer. Substitute Oleynyk, who made his first appearance this term after returning from loan with Naftovyk-Ukrnafta, found the net from twelve meters.
