Serhiy Sydorchuk: “I’m sure Dynamo will benefit from appointment of Lucescu”

FC Dynamo Kyiv captain Serhiy Sydorchuk has told about his vacation and shared his expectations of the new season.

- I’m having rest with my family. This season we have short vacation, but it’s good in a way as we won’t get out of shape like in winter.

- The previous season was unusual due to quarantine. Will you manage to get into the ordinary schedule next season?

- The schedule will be quite tight, so reconditioning will be of great importance. I think we’ll get into usual rhythm and there will be supporters at stadiums which is great.

- What can you say to summarize the previous season?

- We’ve won two trophies and finished second in the UPL which lets us participate in the Champions League qualification. As for football we demonstrated, I wish each of us did better.

- How did you react to the appointment of Mircea Lucescu as Dynamo new head coach?

- Everything happened really quickly, so I haven’t got used to the fact the previous coach has left so far. Anyway, I’m just a player. My task is to take the field and play football.

- What do you expect of the next season?

- Of course I hope it will be much more a success and we’ll win one trophy more. It will be great to add the UPL title to the Super Cup and Ukrainian Cup.

- The fact that Shakhtar former gaffer is Dynamo new head is really extraordinary. How will supporters and journalists treat him, in your opinion?

- This is really something extraordinary. Of course this situation has caused a lot of quarrels and different opinions. But these are emotions related to one of his previous clubs.

If we talk about football only, I’m sure Dynamo will benefit from appointment of Lucescu. He’s really worked with Shakhtar a lot, but this means he knows this team very well.
