Denys Popov: “We always aim to win”

FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Denys Popov has commented upon the UPL matchday 11 game against FC Vorskla Poltava (2:0).

- I can’t say the game was easy. Vorskla are good team and they deserve being third in the league table. They opposed us decently, but we created chances and scored.

- Wasn’t the game rough? Two red cards…

- I’m not going to discuss referee’s decisions. Even Vorskla player said the ball hit his hand, but penalty wasn’t awarded. What we see is a kind of incoherence.

- What did Lucescu tell the team after defeat against Barcelona to inspire you?

- Of course we were very upset after that game. But we didn’t need extra motivation to do our best in this match. Vorskla are third in the table and we had to win.

- What do you expect of the game against Juventus?

- After this win we feel positive. We need points to feature in euro cups in spring.

- Does constant lineup rotation have any impact on you?

- Frankly speaking, it’s hard to recondition after COVID-19. But generally everything is fine. Those players, who take the field, don’t have a lack of mutual understanding.

- Will you cope with Ronaldo?

- Ronaldo is outstanding player. We’ll do our best. We always aim to win. But when we face such incredible teams we need to take a realistic view of things.
