Andriy YARMOLENKO: “I think fans liked the game”

FC Dynamo Kyiv captain Andriy Yarmolenko has helped his team to defeat FC Zoria Luhansk (1:2) within the UPL matchday 19.

- It’s always difficult to feel the game rhythm after winter break. Do you experience that?

- It was difficult, but I think fans liked the game as there were a lot of scoring chances.

- The first goal didn’t knock you sideways…

- As for that goal, it was partially my fault as I was supposed to take the position, where Checher was. Unfortunately this season we concede early openers too often.

- You took part in both combinations that resulted in goals. Did you work on them?

- Coaches always ask centre halves to rush into the penalty area. That’s what Harmash did, when he scored. In the second episode Besedin acted as typical finisher and hit the target after good low cross.

- It seemed that Sukhotskyi opposed you personally. Was that difficult for you?

- He’s a good defender, so it wasn’t easy, but I wasn’t focused only on our duel.

- What do you think of the debut of Pantic and Shepelev?

- Of course Aleks needs time, considering language barrier, but it’s obvious he’s a high profile defender. As for Shepelev, he’s a young player, who must keep making headway. He has good vision of the field and controls the ball pretty well.
