Florin Cernat: “Years I spent in Dynamo are fadeless memories to me”

Romanian halfback Florin Cernat, who featured for FC Dynamo Kyiv from 2001 till 2009, has paid the White-Blues a visit at their training camp in Turkey.

- I finished my career two years ago and FC Voluntari owner offered me the position of sporting director. I can’t live without football, so I took his offer. At the moment my team also has a training camp in Belek.

- At Dynamo game against Legia you had a warm chat with some Kyivans…

- Yes, I talked to Viktor Kashpur, Denys Boiko, Olexiy Mykhailychenko.

- Do you follow Dynamo nowadays?

- When they broadcast Dynamo games and I have free time, I watch. By the way, when Dynamo opposed Olympiacos, many people in Romania were impressed with the fact that you had eight Dynamo trainees in the lineup and three more on the bench.

- You’ve seen two Dynamo friendlies at this training camp. What are your impressions?

- I guess players aren’t 100% ready yet as they’ve been training for only 5 days. The game against Legia was better. In the match against Neftci the team looked tired. But there’s still enough time to get ready for the second part of the season.

- Do you keep in touch with your former Dynamo teammates?

- I keep in touch with Tiberiu Ghioane, Jerko Leko and Georgi Peev. I’ve also talked to Khatskevych and Shatskikh a bunch of times. Recently I had a chat with Vashchuk on Facebook.

- What memories of your career in Dynamo do you have?

- Years I spent in Dynamo are fadeless memories to me. When I met Khatskevych and Shatskikh we recalled our successful performances in the Champions League and Ukrainian league. Today Dynamo have a young team. This is a bit different level.
