Benjamin VERBIC: “Now we must focus on the game against Olimpik”

FC Dynamo Kyiv halfback Benjamin Verbic has shared his impressions of the Champions League third qualifying round second leg against Club Brugge KV.

- Benjamin, after the second goal, it seemed you would win and reach the net stage. What happened? What was going on in the locker-room after the game?

- It was very quiet there… It took me time to walk in there. I’m all nerves, but we must look forward. I’d like to apologize to people, who came to support us. I’m sorry.

- Is this all about individual mistakes?

- We had a lot of chances. We did very well early in the game, but then stopped. The same happened in the second half. There were individual mistakes, but this is football.

- Second goal is your personal desert: you eluded opponent and hit the post and then Shepelev scored. It seemed this goal would be crucial…

- That’s true, we scored 55 minutes into the game and felt fine. I was dissatisfied when they substituted me. I could keep playing.

- How come Dynamo don’t reach the Champions League group stage for the third time in a row?

- If I say we have many injured players again…  I don’t know, we must move forward and win the UPL to qualify for the Champions League for sure.

- What are your goals for the Europa League?

- I can’t think about in so far. Our next game is against FC Olimpik Donetsk and we must focus on it.
