Ihor SURKIS: “FC Dynamo Kyiv will do whatever it takes to fight against aggression and violence at the stadium”

After UEFA heard FC Dynamo Kyiv appeal and let the White-Blues play the Champions League round of 16 first leg against Manchester City FC at the NSC Olimpiyskyi in front of fans, president of our club stated:

- We’re glad UEFA has take our arguments into account and our home match against Manchester City FC won’t be played behind closed doors. That’s great news not only for our club, but also for fans, who can witness the first Champions League knock-out stage game in the capital of Ukraine since 1999.

Our club has done great job not just to make the appeal a success, but first of all to start changes in FC Dynamo Kyiv security system. What also matters is that we’ve helped to find people responsible for the incident.

I want to thank UEFA and FFU, who took Dynamo arguments reasonably. We’re although thankful to law-enforcement authorities.

Of course one of the key factors is that this situation was followed by country leaders including the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

FC Dynamo Kyiv will do whatever it takes to fight against aggression and violence at the stadium. We also support UEFA campaign struggling against racism and all kinds of discrimination.

We count not only on authorities, but also on fans’ support. They must be our main helpers and partners.

Only together we can turn the stadium into secure and comfortable place, where everyone will be able to support favorite team and enjoy football.

We hope everyone, who cares about FC Dynamo Kyiv, will help us reach this aim.
